Eastbay History

Eastbay was founded in the year 1980. The company has been operational for almost 29 years now. Art Juedes and Richard Gering founded the company. The main aim of the company was to sell various kinds of shoes at a discount, along with athletic shoes as well. The company had started its operations with the help of $7,000 worth of running shoe stock. The company had set up shoe clinics around Wausau, Wisconsin, USA, where the shoes were sold and also prices were revealed as well. In the year 1983, the company had set up a catalogue that strictly showed various kinds of athletic shoes, running shoes along with other types of sports shoes as well. Within the next three years, the company had received multiple types of orders, which ultimately led them to the hiring of phone operators. Then in the year 1989, the company had also structured a sales division as well. In the year 1990, the company had set up its call centres, warehouses and even a separate shipping department as well.
