New Era Cap Company was founded in the year 1920. The company has been active for almost 99 years now. The founder of the company was Ehrhardt Koch. The company was started with an investment of just $2000. In the year 1934, the company began producing caps for the Cleveland Indians, which was its first Major League Baseball contract as well. As of the year 1954, the company’s fitted pro cap was modernized, redesigned and was named as the 59Fifty. By the year 1965, the company was supplying caps to about 10 of the 20 MLB teams. In the year 1993, the company was granted the first exclusive license with MLB to produce the on-field baseball caps for all teams as well.
