Cintas has its roots back in 1929 and back then it was named Acme Industrial Laundry Company. Richard Farmer, its founder used to sell rugs after cleaning them as they were soaked in chemicals. Later, towels and tablecloths were introduced and the name of the company was changed to Acme Wiper and Industrial Laundry. From selling towels to opening uniform rental plant in Cleveland, now Cintas experienced an increase in sales approximating to US$12.97 billion (2017). It got listed as one of the “Most Admired Companies” in the list of Forbes. Scott Farmer was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2003 and Bob Kohlhepp serves as Chairman of the Board.
