Aol History

AOL was founded in the year in the year 1983. The company has been operational for almost 36 years now. The former name of the company was Control Video Corporation. The founders of the company are William von Meister, Marc Seriff, Jim Kimsey and Steve Case. Over the years the company had changed its name several times. In the year 1985, the name of the company was changed to Quantum Computer Services. The name was changed to America Online in the year 1991 and finally AOL in the year 2009. During the year 1991, AOL was very much famous because of its dial-up internet service in the USA. In almost every store in the country, the AOL software could be found for free, along with computer discs as well, which are mailed to the USA households at a massive rate.
