Ascena Retail Group was incorporated by Roslyn Jaffe in 1962 in Stamford, Connecticut. It was started with a purpose to provide stylish and affordable clothes to working women. The company started trading on NASDAQ under the ticker symbol DBRN in 1982. By 2009, they widened their focus and purchased Tween Brands and introduced girl’s clothing line. It acquired Ann Inc in 2015. This company has its headquarters in Mahwah, New Jersey.
