The former name of the company was The Van Doren Rubber Company, and the company started manufacturing shoes exclusively. The company had opened its first store in the year 1966, in California, USA. The company used to display three styles of shoes, which were priced between $2.49 and $4.99. The company had become very popular in the early 1970s, mainly for allowing customers to bring their own fabric and then have their own personalized being shoes made as well. The company’s shoes were often used by cheerleading teams and also school sports teams for this reason as well.
