Simon Property Group was founded in the year 1993. The company has been active for almost 26 years now. The founders of the company were Herbert Simon and Melvin Simon. The company has its origin back in the year 1960 when Melvin Simon & Associates was established. In the year 1996, Simon DeBartolo Group was created when Simon Property merged with former rival DeBartolo Realty Corp. In the year 1998, the company had taken over Corporate Property Investors.
