American Red Cross History

American Red Cross was founded in the year 1881. The organisation has been active for almost 137 years now. The founder of the company is Clara Burton. It was the founder that lead two major relief programs on two different occasion – one being the Great Fire of 1881 in Michigan, and the other being the Johnstown Flood in the year 1889. In the year 1904, the founder was ousted from the organisation. The organisation started making its own structural reforms, and all the social workers that were professional had taken over the reins. In the year 2006, the total revenue of the organisation had risen to $6 billion, which had decreased after hurricane Katrina.
