ADP History

ADP was founded in the year 1949. The company has been operational for almost 70 years now. The founder of the company was Henry Taub. The former name of the company was Automatic Payrolls. In the year 1957, Frank Lautenberg had joined the company and started to work in the marketing and sales department of the company as well. Then in the year 1961, the company had changed its name to ADP or Automatic Data Processing. The company started using mainframe computers, printing machines and also punched card machines as well. The company had become a limited public entity in the year 1961, with almost 300 clients and 125 employees. The company was generating revenues of $400,000 during that time.
