Gartner History
Gartner was founded in the year 1979. The company has been operational for almost 40 years now. The founder of the company was Gideon Gartner. The former name of the company was The Gartner Group. The company mainly started as a private entity, but during the 1980s, the company was transformed into a publicly traded company. The company, after its transformation had acquired Saatchi & Saatchi – which was a London-based advertising agency. In the year 1990, the company had received funding from Dun & Bradstreet and Bain Capital. Then in the year 2000, the name of the company was changed to just Gartner, in order to simplify the name.
